Building Fragments — A new landing page
A new landing page, questions and answers and the final touches before early access launch
Soft launching the landing page
So, this is going to be a short one this week, because I've been super busy gathering feedback, making changes, polishing content and finally putting the finishing touches on a new landing page for Fragments! It's probably not going contain anything new for you all who are subscribed, but it feels awesome to finally get this to a point where I'm happy with it.
It combines my love of minimalist and typographic design, with a whole bunch of really neat shaders I've created over the last year.
Refining the platform
Among other things, I've been working really hard on the platform itself. I've added a lot of features with a focus on creating a stellar experience. I do this sort of thing for a living, but it still really shocks me just how much work and care you need to put into creating something like this. It's fun, but there's a lot to do!
Something I want to do is give a live preview of what's in Fragments. The plan is to unlock the first technique, some shader breakdowns and a utility or two that will be available to everyone. I think that will happen probably around the time the first additional chapter is released (ie: shortly after early access launches).
Questions and answers
I've done my best to answer some of the common questions I've been asked about Fragments so far - as well as some others that I think you might be interested in. Please check it out because I'm really keen to get everyone's feedback on it. Let me know what you think, or if anything is missing or unclear.
So when is this ready?
I was aiming for an early August launch, which is going to slip - but I'm really happy with where things are at. I've got a bit more feedback to gather and a few more things to polish, and having a well-earned vacation to escape the depths of Winter here in Australia. So at this stage I'm aiming for a launch of early access on or around September 3rd - just in time for Spring (or Autumn, depending on where you are in the world).
Scary! Exciting! Can't wait to get this out there.
